Knox Private Hospital opened in 1985 as a 120 bed hospital. Three redevelopments later, including a large scale development completed in 2011, saw Knox Private Hospital grow to 310 patient beds, a 24 hour Emergency Department, 11 theatres, 8 wards, a day unit, more than 30 consulting rooms and over 700 car parking spaces.
Due to this significant growth and an increase in services provided to the outer eastern and south eastern communities, Knox Private Hospital, in collaboration with accredited private specialists, is the largest hospital in the region, treating more than 40,000 patients per year. Since first opening, it has provided first class care to over a million patients.

Knox Private Hospital has recently completed a large redevelopment including the addition of new equipment and technology. The redevelopment included 2 new wards and emergency department and four new theatres.
